???? anyone knows it? Does anyone know how to fix a corrupted JFS partition and possibly recover any files I may have? It was a drive from 2 years ago, then I wanted to install ubuntu, and it kept reading it all corrupt But I was able to mount the partition, just not read anything, even the file system was a mess I am going to use testdisk Guest57506: I'm not 100% familiar with JFS but it sounds like it is a journal-based file-system which might have been damaged by power loss Guest57506: If that is the case then it should be possible to use testdisk to recover a LOT of data Guest57506: use the'recover' option and choose the best FS that can recover the most data from the JFS file-system Guest57506: If you see the filesystem type in 'help' then you may be able to choose something else Guest57506: You could also check for other file-systems with "dumpe2fs -h" I got a lot of stnumbers in the ext4 partition, so, probably ext2 I used testdisk to mount it to see if it could recover, but it couldn't mount it at all Guest57506: Ahh, so ext2.
