Fans were left with an emotional ending during Infinity War last year, and they are dying to know what will happen to their favorite superheroes when half of the universe has been wiped out of existence. Well, fans do not have to wait for any longer now. Avengers: Endgame is coming to theaters worldwide on April 26 this year. But fans in Malaysia are even luckier when the film is set to be released on April 24, exactly two days earlier than the rest of the world. Avengers: Endgame tickets pre-sales had broke the Internet awhile ago when the fans were trying to get the best seats in theaters for the movie premiere. And if you have no idea of what this movie is about and wanted to go with the tide, don't worry! We have it cover.

Things Everyone Should've Know Before the Movie

The Beginning of the Marvel Cinematic Universe

In April 2008, when Jon Favreau's Iron Man hit the theater, it marks the beginning of the Marvel Cinematic Universe when Samuel L Jackson's character, Nick Fury stopped by and told Tony Stark that he was not alone in the universe. The universe is then began to expand more and more with The Incredible Hulk released two months later. May 2010 released of Iron Man 2 introduced another new character in the Marvel Cinematic Universe when Scarlett Johansson's Natasha Romanoff/Black Widow joined Robert Downey Jr.'s Tony Stark/Iron Man to save the city from Hammer Industries Killer Drones attack.

In 2011, Chris Evans' Steve Rogers/Captain America and Chris Hemsworth's Thor made their big screen debut in Captain America: The First Avenger and Thor. Eventually leading the story telling to a much bigger plot when all heroes came together for the first time in 2012 to stop Tom Hiddleston's Loki and the Chitauri in Marvel's The Avengers. Actors such as Jeremy Renner's Clint Barton/Hawkeye, Mark Ruffalo's Bruce Banner/Hulk and Clark Gregg's Agent Phil Coulson are brought together to form a team of Earth Mightiest Heroes known as the Avengers. The post credit scene teased fans the beginning of the Infinity Saga, a story arc of the first 3 phases story telling in the Marvel Cinematic Universe produced by Kevin Feige.

Phase 2 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe begins with the released of Iron Man 3 in May 2013, completing the first trilogy in the MCU. Thor and Captain America also returned for their second installment in the trilogy in Thor: The Dark World in November 2013 and Captain America: The Winter Soldier in April 2014 respectively. Sebastian Stan and Anthony Mackie also joined the cast by portraying the characters Bucky Barnes/Winter Soldier and Sam Wilson/Falcon. In August 2014, James Gunn introduced a bunch of the galaxy most wanted criminals who turned heroic to save Xandar from Lee Pace's Ronin destruction in The Guardians of the Galaxy. Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Vin Diesel and Bradley Cooper portray the characters Peter Quill/Star Lord, Gamora, Drax, Groot and Rocket Raccoon respectively.

Once again, the Earth Mightiest Heroes came together for the second time in Avengers: Age of Ultron when James Spader's Ultron threatened the extinction of humans. Elizabeth Olsen's Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch and Paul Bettany’s Vision had also joined the Avengers in their ever expanding roster. The post credit scene of Avengers: Age of Ultron is again teased by the mad titan Thanos putting on the Infinity Gauntlet. “Fine. I’ll do it myself.” At this point, fans had already knew that some point in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, we are going to see Thanos wandering through the universe to collect all Infinity Stones. But Marvel Studios had decided to let fans wait for a little longer for that to happen. Phase 2 is then concluded by the release of Ant Man in July 2015, portrayed by no other than Paul Rudd.

The Avengers had to be unprepared when Thanos launched an attack upon them. This is what told by Kevin Feige back in May 2016 when Captain America: Civil War was released on the big screen. The team was divided when Captain America and Iron Man turned onto each other after Tony Stark learnt that the Winter Soldier was the cause of his parents’ death. When Josh Brolin finally showed up as Thanos in Avengers: Infinity War last year, the Avengers were defeated one after another and we saw Thanos succeeded in collecting all Infinity Stones and wiped out half the universe from existence.

In a few more days, fans can finally end the struggle of the long awaited Endgame to arrive. Avengers: Endgame directors Joe and Anthony Russo had also said in an interview that the film will be a 3 hours and 5 minutes long, and that is the run time that it supposed to be.
