Marvel Studios' Avengers: Endgame is expected to break a $1 billion opening weekend on its release on April 26 this year. As of reported by Box Office Mojo on April 26, Avengers: Endgame had already brought in a total estimation of $643,700,00 at the worldwide box office. That makes it the biggest global opening in the film history.
And the weekend isn't even being close to over yet.
As of its third day of worldwide release on April 28, Avengers: Endgame had broke the opening box office of all time, setting a new record at $1.2 billion.
Avengers: Endgame had already made $350 million in the US on its opening weekend and $859 million overseas as of April 28. It also surpassed the record held by Avengers: Infinity War, which made $641 million for its opening worldwide in April last year. With $859 million from the overseas box office, Endgame had also broke the record for the biggest opening weekend internationally, which was held by The Fate of the Furious.
Not just that, Endgame also already has the highest grossing three day start ever in China, which has so far made $217 million there as of April 26. Besides that, Endgame also has the biggest opening day ever in North America with $156.7 million on April 26. That's enough for it to surpass the previous record's total by $37 million, which was held by Star Wars: The Force Awakens.
The movie has not even released for a week and we are already in a $1 billion worldwide opening milestone. Most of the theaters are running around the clock and adding showtimes to meet the demand of moviegoers. Marvel Studios' Avengers: Endgame is expecting to make a total of $3 billion globally at the end of its box office, which will eventually becoming the highest box office blockbuster in the world, surpassing Avatar and Titanic which are holding still at $2.8 billion and $2.2 billion worldwide.
Endgame is the epic conclusion to Marvel Studios' decade long of story telling. The studios has made a total of more than $19 billion worldwide so far.
