On this week's episode of Arrow entitled "Spartan", we got to explore more on John Diggle's story. At the beginning of the episode, we got to see Oliver Queen aka the Green Arrow and John Diggle aka Spartan pursuing Dante and acquired a hard drive contain military grade encrypted files. After discovering that someone at A.R.G.U.S. has been leaking classified intel to the Ninth Circle, Dig takes Oliver along to visit a contact at the Defense Intelligent Agency. Which is then led both of them to meet General Steward.

YES! You are right. Up to this moment, fans had already knew who is that name belongs to.

Before they left the General's office, General Stewart revealed to Oliver Queen that he was John's Stepfather. John later confessed to Oliver that his father died under Stewart's mission, and just six months later, Stewart was coming around for dinner. When he married into the family, he made John and Andy do hardcore Spartan survival drills. John blamed Steward for his father's death by leaving him behind when the mission went wrong.

In the meanwhile, the Ninth Circle broke into Smoak Tech's office and stole Archer in order to find an extremely dangerous biological weapon that Stewart once worked on. Oliver then gave John the mission file that Fecility hacked into, which revealed that it was actually John's father who was negligent and also cost two Marines their lives. John confronted Stewart at the end of the episode and asked him the reason he kept it from John. Stewart explained that every kid deserves to be believe that their father is a hero. And in believing that, John had became the man who he is today.

"If I am a hero, It's all because of you," is what John replied.

The name Stewart isn't a stranger to DC fans. John Stewart is one of the characters known as the Green Lantern, a fictional superhero created by Dennis O'Neil and Neal Adams and first appeared in Green Lantern #87 on December 1971 and January 1972. It is published by DC Comics and was the first African-American superhero to appear in DC Comics. This is not the first time that a Green Lantern reference was mentioned in the Arrowverse. During the annual crossover last year in "Elseworlds", John Wesley Shipp, who portrays the character Jay Garrick in The Flash mentioned that John Diggle was not wearing his ring in this universe. This reveal had confirmed that the fans theory is true since the first season of Arrow airs back in 2012. In an alternate universe, John Diggle is the superhero known as the Green Lantern. But on this week's episode, fans theory has been confirmed once again, acknowledging John Stewart exist in the Arrowverse.

Meanwhile in 2040, Galaxy One has found a way to expand Archer's tech into an unstoppable army. The flash forwards also revealed that Connor's brother John Jr. is the leader or the Deathstroke gang.
