Bandai Namco has announced a new mobile game based on the long-running Gundam franchise. Titled Gundam Battle: Gunpla Warfare is a collection-based battle game which just happens to be the first Gundam title that will make its way to the West on Android and iOS.
This mobile game is themed around the hobby of collecting and building Gunpla (Gundam Plastic Model) and will feature more than 25 Gundam from the anime series. According to the company behind this game, it is expected to be released in this summer, and you can now pre-register the game on the Play Store starting today.
A few details on the game are shown in the trailer released by Bandai Namco earlier. The first highlight is that you can build your very own digital Gunpla on your mobile device. It sounds very interesting for fans of the physical models as you can also customize the colors of your kits to your liking.
So far the details surrounding Gundam Battle are few and far between. Obviously the game is a free-to-play release with in-app purchase.
As a fan of Gundam and Gunpla, I have been looking forward to this game ever since I enjoying watching Gundam Build Fighters back in 2014. And hopefully as the title suggested, this game can live up to the expectation as how a Gundam Battle would be held in the anime.
